If your child arrives at school after the start of class (which is 9.20am), a parent or guardian MUST accompany them to the office and sign them via our Compass Kiosk at the front desk.
Please do not 'drop and run' at car line or the front gate.
If you do not sign your child in via the office, they will be marked 'Late - Unexplained'. The school will then issue a notice to parents asking for an explanation for the late arrival. It is a legal requirement that any absence has a satisfactory explanation, and our head office in Canberra has requested that schools follow this procedure.

Staffing Changes in 2024
We have minimal staff changes in 2024. Mrs Yeo & Mrs Brown will be on maternity leave, and Mrs Hunt has extended her family leave for another 12 months. Mrs Delaney will move from a part time role to full time on staff in 2024. There will also be some movement internally amongst staff which I will explain towards the end of term. Our Youth Minister Gerard is also moving on and we thank him for the great platform he has built to help us create our own Youth Ministry. Thanks also to Grace Cummins who has done a wonderful job as a classroom assistant. We wish her well as she completes her teacher training course.
Miss Kate Jackson will be joining both our staff & St Joseph’s as a relief teacher shared between the schools. We are very grateful to Catholic Education office let us have this extra position as a response to the staffing shortages we are dealing with.
Application for reduction of fees
Parents experiencing significant financial difficulties may apply for school fees assistance. In line with the Catholic Education Office Canberra and Goulburn Archdiocese Fees Policy, no student will be refused enrolment, be excluded, or be disadvantaged because of an inability (as opposed to an unwillingness) on the part of the parents/guardians to meet financial requirements.
Any reductions granted generally apply on a year-by-year basis, i.e., a separate application is required each year.
Based on the information provided in this form I will determine an appropriate level of fee support based upon guidelines agreed to by the Catholic Education Office Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn and Ss Peter and Paul’s and with consistency and in confidence.
If you would like to apply for a reduction in fees, please contact the office for a form.
Online Triple P - Positive Parenting Program
Parents and carers are offered access to free online parenting courses developed in Australian by the Triple P – Positive Parenting Program, thanks to Australian Government funding. The link below guides familiesto specific programs and online resources, assisting with the everyday challenges parents and carers face raising calm, resilient and happy children.
Please be aware that any items that remain in the lost property bin at the end of the year will be washed and donated. Uniforms will go to the second-hand clothing section of our uniform shop. If your child is missing items please come to the front office to check the bin.
The appointment booking sheet for both Testing and Uniform Fittings for our Kinder 2024 students have been emailed to families this week. Please type your child's name into your preferred time to secure a spot.

Christmas Appeal - Week 8
As part of our Social Justice work, students are asked to bring non-perishable items to school for donation to our Christmas appeal.
Half will be donated to St Vincent De Paul's Christmas appeal for those in need and half will be put together for a Christmas raffle on carols night, with the funds going towards a second school barbeque for events.
We will have the prize for the class that donates the most items.
Year 3 Reflection Day
On Tuesday of week 6, our Year 3 students worked with our Youth Ministry team to develop a better understanding of God's love and forgiveness. They enjoyed the day playing games, discussing how it feels to forgive and be forgiven as well as worked through what are good choice, bad choices and how to make amends.
All the students had a lovely day and we are so appreciative of our Youth Ministry team taking the time to provide such a valuable experience for our students.
Save the date (6/2/24) if you are able to help as a timekeeper, ribbon distributer, parent relay swimmer or lifesaver.

The beginning and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.
You can help keep children safe by remembering the following:
- drop your child off and pick them up on the school side of the road
- never call out to them from across the road - it is very dangerous
- always take extra care in 40km school zones
- follow all parking signs - these help keep your child as safe as possible
- park responsibly even if it means you have to walk further to the school gate
- never double park - it is illegal and puts children at risk
- never do a U-turn or a three point turn outside the school as it puts children at risk of harm
- model safe and considerate pedestrian and driver behaviours to your child
- always give way to pedestrians particularly when entering and leaving driveways.
Our K-2 students had a wonderful day at the Raiders Tag Gala Day last week. There was dancing, drills and games against East Goulburn Public school for all to enjoy. Thank you to our coaches Joel, Sarah, Robbie, John and Deryn!
Congratulations to Bonnie Maxwell of 4M! Bonnie attended the AOGKF Gasshuku in Goulburn on the weekend and competed in the national Championships. Bonnie was successful and is now the 9YO Girls National Champion in Kumite Sparring!

Our school counsellor Madi is now on maternity leave. For any questions or concerns please reach out to your classroom teacher or school staff. If your child is needing further assistance this term, we can direct you to appropriate community or private services that can assist your family until the counsellor returns in Term 1, 2024.
Catholiccare has merged with Marymead during the holiday break. There are no changes to our service delivery. The only change you may see will be our official title of Marymead Catholiccare Canberra Goulburn. Please also note our email address will be updated to reflect the new organisation (eg firstname.lastname@mccg.org.au).
Counsellor Referral Link: https://catholiccare.force.com/housing/s/school-referral-form
Parent consent for counselling continues to be required for all primary school students and will be sought and provided via email or phone call. Where parents are separated, we require the consent of both parents. Once the referral has been received by the School Counsellor contact will be made with parents on their next day at Ss Peter and Paul’s to further discuss the referral.
TERM 4 REMINDERS - Everyday Details at a Glance
Late Drop Off/Early Pick up and Student Supervision
- Please remember that if you are running late and arrive at school after 9.20am, parents MUST come to the front office and sign their child/ren in.
- Please take particular note of the below student supervision times before and after school
- BELL TIMES - Please come outside of these times if you need to collect your child early:
- School Start 9.20am (Student supervision from 8.30am)
- 1st Break (lunch) 11.25am-12.05pm
- 2nd break (recess) 1.25pm - 2pm
- School Finish 3.20pm (Student supervision at car line until 3.45pm, at bus lines until the last bus leaves)
Car Line & Parent Parking
- We remind parents that car line is the most appropriate and safest place to drop your child/ren off at school in the morning, and pick them up in the afternoon. This is a 'kiss and go' system where you should not hop out of the car. If your child/ren need help to get in and out of the car, or you wish to walk them to their classroom in the morning, we ask that you park on Prince Street (outside car line) and not in car line, the very limited staff parking spaces, or in the all day spaces on Knox Street (see map below).
- At the end of the day when you are lined up on the road at pick up time you are only permitted to be stopped for 2 minutes. If the line is not moving, advice from NSW Police is that parents and carers should drive around the block until they are able to enter the school grounds.
- Please also remember that student supervision at car line is until 3:45pm, so arriving around or after 3:30 will help to ease the congestion at this time. It is not essential that you are at car line before 3:20pm (school finish time).
- Please also remember to leave neighbours driveways clear when waiting to pick your child up at the end of the day, especially if you are waiting behind the bus stop area.
Whole & Partial Day Unexplained Absences
- Any unexplained absence reminders (for both whole and partial days) will be emailed to families on a weekly basis. Please ensure you complete the Compass absentee form via the app in a timely manner. It is a legal requirement that any absence from school has a satisfactory explanation.
- For any partial absences (such as late arrivals NOT signed in through the front office) please adjust the END TIME ONLY to reflect the end time as it is stated on your email (for example: 09.20 AM - 09.28 AM Partial Day - you will need to change the end time in Compass from 5.00 PM to 9.28 AM).
Personal Items, Mobile Phones, and Devices
- Children SHOULD NOT bring toys, personal and valuable items to school.
- Any mobile phones or personal electronic devices need to be handed in to the office before classes start and collected at home time.
Uniform and Equipment
- HATS ARE COMPULSORY EVERY DAY EXCEPT FOR THE 'J' MONTHS (JUNE & JULY).
- Please pack a water bottle for your child/ren. Bubblers are available.
- Please ensure that your child/ren's belongings are labelled clearly
- Lost property is located in the front office
