SPP CAROLS NIGHT
Thank you for suporting our BBQ at the Carols night yesterday evening. $2000 was raised which will help us buy a high quality BBQ and some heavy duty aprons for our fabulous cooks! Thank you also for the Donations of food to the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal. We were able to donate 8 washing baskets of food items, plus stock our two hampers which were raffled off at the Carols.
SCC & P&F
A review of School Boards, Community Councils and P&Fs across the Archdiocese has been undertaken over the past 18 months. The review has now concluded and in line with the recommendations made, our Community Council & P &F Committee will be transitioning to a new School Community Council over the next few months. Our Community Council is working with the Catholic Education Office on aspects of the change, and I will provide you with more information in the weeks ahead.
Community Council Meeting update
The Council met for the last time this year. There was considerable discussion on our plan for transition to new structure that head office wishes us to follow. The council will be in interim mode next year with elections in Term 2. The P & F will operate in a similar structure looking after fundraising & social events and will be renamed as the Fundraising & Social committee.
The Council voted to spend accumulated funds for 2023 on new softfall for the K-2 equipment & new Chrome books. A reserve of money remains for ongoing Canteen & Uniform shop purchases , support & maintenance.
CCSP NEWSLETTER
Council of Catholic School Parents NSW/ACT (CCSP) has published its latest newsletter.

END OF YEAR
We will be holding our final assembly to farewell Year 6 on Friday 16th December at 2.45pm. Everyone is very welcome to come along. Students are allowed to wear casual clothes and bring devices on the last day.
STAFFING UPDATE
I would like to inform you that Andrew Moss has accepted a transfer to John Paul College in Canberra for 2024. We sincerely thank him for his work and wish him success in his new role. I have begun the work to recruit a new 5/6 teacher.
THANK YOU
As the year comes to a close, I am extremely grateful to all the students, staff and families for their efforts in what has been a busy year.
Thank you, families; your support and understanding has been terrific. Your financial commitment through fees & fundraisers are very important to keep our school running.
THANKS TO THE WONDERFUL PARENT CLASS HELPERS for volunteering & keeping the lines of communication open.
Special thanks to the School Community Council and P&F for all their great work.
Our student leaders have done a terrific job, and my thanks to all the students striving to be welcoming, studying hard and following our motto - To Learn, To Lead, To Love.
My thanks to some of the less seen workers at our school - Di & Courtney in the canteen, our cleaner Vicki and Steve our Groundsperson.
Thanks to Father Joshy and Father Hilary for their support of our spiritual needs.
Thanks to Tracey for her smooth running of our Front Office and Caitlan & Stacey who have supported her. My thanks to the School Executive Brad, Cassie, and Greg for many hours of extra work especially in Term 3 on short notice. I will always be grateful for time I got to spend with my father before he passed away.
All the staff here do an extraordinary job and strive to be kind, caring and understanding in what are very demanding roles. I hope they enjoy their well-earned break.
Best wishes to Sarah Brown & Sarah Yeo for the safe arrival of their babies.
This year we are having some families finishing at Ss Peter and Pauls who have made tremendous contributions to our school community and I sincerely thank them. To all the other students, staff and families leaving the school, I thank them for their contribution to our community and I wish them well for the future.
Thanks to all for their hard work and I wish all a lovely break.
To all - May Christ bless you and may you have a Happy and Holy Christmas.
Application for Reduction of Fees
Parents experiencing significant financial difficulties may apply for school fees assistance. In line with the Catholic Education Office Canberra and Goulburn Archdiocese Fees Policy, no student will be refused enrolment, be excluded, or be disadvantaged because of an inability (as opposed to an unwillingness) on the part of the parents/guardians to meet financial requirements.
Any reductions granted generally apply on a year-by-year basis, i.e., a separate application is required each year.
Based on the information provided in this form I will determine an appropriate level of fee support based upon guidelines agreed to by the Catholic Education Office Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn and Ss Peter and Paul’s and with consistency and in confidence.
If you would like to apply for a reduction in fees, please contact the office for a form.
Please be aware that any items that remain in the lost property bin at the end of the year will be washed and donated. Uniforms will go to the second-hand clothing section of our uniform shop. If your child is missing items please come to the front office to check the bin.

It has been a wonderful year of learning and fun in KH and KW. We finished the year off with an excursion to the Adventure Playground. We had lots of fun climbing, sliding, swinging and racing on the flying fox. The ice blocks were a lovely treat to cool us down!
On Monday the 13th of November (week 6) Kindergarten to Year 2 participated in shoelace tying workshops run by Athletes Foot and Ascent Footwear. Students were given their own shoe pencil case to practise on and learnt through the guidance of the instructor and a video. Students are encouraged to continue practising this skill at home until they have mastered it.
Here is the link to the video we followed on the day: https://youtu.be/9CK2tVgPmTg?feature=shared
Our school counsellor Madi is now on maternity leave. For any questions or concerns please reach out to your classroom teacher or school staff. If your child is needing further assistance this term, we can direct you to appropriate community or private services that can assist your family until the counsellor returns in Term 1, 2024.

TERM 4 REMINDERS - Everyday Details at a Glance
Late Drop Off/Early Pick up and Student Supervision
- Please remember that if you are running late and arrive at school after 9.20am, parents MUST come to the front office and sign their child/ren in.
- Please take particular note of the below student supervision times before and after school
- BELL TIMES - Please come outside of these times if you need to collect your child early:
- School Start 9.20am (Student supervision from 8.30am)
- 1st Break (lunch) 11.25am-12.05pm
- 2nd break (recess) 1.25pm - 2pm
- School Finish 3.20pm (Student supervision at car line until 3.45pm, at bus lines until the last bus leaves)
Car Line & Parent Parking
- We remind parents that car line is the most appropriate and safest place to drop your child/ren off at school in the morning, and pick them up in the afternoon. This is a 'kiss and go' system where you should not hop out of the car. If your child/ren need help to get in and out of the car, or you wish to walk them to their classroom in the morning, we ask that you park on Prince Street (outside car line) and not in car line, the very limited staff parking spaces, or in the all day spaces on Knox Street (see map below).
- At the end of the day when you are lined up on the road at pick up time you are only permitted to be stopped for 2 minutes. If the line is not moving, advice from NSW Police is that parents and carers should drive around the block until they are able to enter the school grounds.
- Please also remember that student supervision at car line is until 3:45pm, so arriving around or after 3:30 will help to ease the congestion at this time. It is not essential that you are at car line before 3:20pm (school finish time).
- Please also remember to leave neighbours driveways clear when waiting to pick your child up at the end of the day, especially if you are waiting behind the bus stop area.
Whole & Partial Day Unexplained Absences
- Any unexplained absence reminders (for both whole and partial days) will be emailed to families on a weekly basis. Please ensure you complete the Compass absentee form via the app in a timely manner. It is a legal requirement that any absence from school has a satisfactory explanation.
- For any partial absences (such as late arrivals NOT signed in through the front office) please adjust the END TIME ONLY to reflect the end time as it is stated on your email (for example: 09.20 AM - 09.28 AM Partial Day - you will need to change the end time in Compass from 5.00 PM to 9.28 AM).
Personal Items, Mobile Phones, and Devices
- Children SHOULD NOT bring toys, personal and valuable items to school.
- Any mobile phones or personal electronic devices need to be handed in to the office before classes start and collected at home time.
Uniform and Equipment
- HATS ARE COMPULSORY EVERY DAY EXCEPT FOR THE 'J' MONTHS (JUNE & JULY).
- Please pack a water bottle for your child/ren. Bubblers are available.
- Please ensure that your child/ren's belongings are labelled clearly
- Lost property is located in the front office
