Welcome back to Term 4. It will be a busy term with K-2 Swimming, Life Education, End of Year celebrations and Planning for 2020. I encourage you all to keep an eye on the calendar and regularly check the app for any changes and updates. A term calendar is attached to the newsletter for you to do some forward planning.
Art Show, Soccer Presentation, Andrew Chinn Concert
We finished our term with three great celebrations. The Art Show was well attended by families and grandparents. It was a great success and highlighted how we try to develop the many talents of our students. Thanks to Baxter Watts, Megan Zahrouni and Sam Ford for their individual musical performances. The school choir was wonderful. Once again thanks to Mr Angus for his co-ordination of this event. He has already started planning for a great evening of Christmas music on 11th December to finish off the year.
Thanks to all the families who supported our Soccer Club in 2019. Special thanks to Michelle Randall for all her work to run the club in 2019.
Andrew Chinn visited our school on the last day of term and ran great workshops on the fantastic Religious Education songs we use in our school. His concert in the afternoon was great and had all students participating. It was a wonderful way to finish the term.

YOU CAN DO IT
This term the focus in the lessons is on :
SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL BLOCKER like Worry/Anxiety + Feeling Down + Anger + Not Paying Attention + Procrastination
Everyone has some things about them that block them from being successful and happy. They might get too angry, worried or sad about something. They might be lazy and not do their work or chores, or they may not pay attention in class. Having a blocker doesn't make you a bad person. Everyone can learn different things they can do to make their blockers much smaller.
Operation Christmas Child:
Each class has their own shoeboxes to fill as part of Operation Christmas Child. Your child’s class has chosen a specific age to buy for. Each child is asked to bring a small gift to place in their class shoebox.
Please send in a small gift to your child’s classroom teacher by end of Week 2.
All Saints’ Day Mass:
All Saints' Day is a solemn holy day of the Catholic Church celebrated annually on November 1st. The day is dedicated to the saints of the Church. Students in Years 3-6 will celebrate All Saints’ Day by attending the Parish Mass at Ss. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral at 10am. Parents and carers are invited to attend. This excursion is covered by the Local Excursion permission form. Please contact the office to update details if necessary.
BOOROWA TOUCH AND NETBALL CARNIVAL
Eighty-nine students will be travelling to Boorowa on Friday 25/10 for the Boorowa Touch and Netball Carnival. We have entered two Netball teams and ten Touch teams from Years 2-6. Many thanks to the parents that have volunteered to coach teams. A reminder that buses leave at 6.30am and will return between 5 and 5.30pm. Check the App for updates. Please make sure students have LOTS of water and sunscreen. Hats are compulsory and to be worn with the correct school sports uniform. Touch playing tops and Netball bibs will be supplied.
GOULBURN PRIMARY CRICKET BLAST CUP
The postponed Cricket Blast Cup will be held on Tuesday 22nd October. A reminder that buses leave at 9.00am and will return to school by 2.45. Students involved are to wear their correct sports uniform and a hat. Please don’t forget sunscreen.

Soccer Wrap Up – 2019
Season 2019 – complete ! Thank you to all those who have made it a highly successful season for our 13 teams across Under 6s through to Under 13s.
We could not have made it through this season without :
- Our superstar soccer players – thank you for your energy and enthusiasm each week. We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to play with your friends and have a run around.
- Our amazing coaches and managers – thank you to all those who took on the role. For all the challenges, the fun and cold starts on a Saturday, we thank you.
- Our generous sponsors – a huge thankyou to Bryants Bakery and Café, BelleView Constructions, Goulburn Kitchens and Trappers Bakery. Without their generous donations, we would not be able to provide new sets of player jerseys and training aids.
We’d also like to thank the school for supporting our club – as mentioned on Sunday, not many schools have school based teams in community competitions – so we are very lucky, Tracey Kain, Renee Funnell, Ronnie Ferris, Jane Twohill and all the parents that helped with the BBQ and pack up from our presentation day.
I’m sure 2020 is set to be just as good,
Michelle Randall
(for SPPFC).
