It was lovely to see some students at school & I have also managed to catch up with some through zoom. We look forward to seeing more students as we transition back to school. We are rapidly changing and I do appreciate your patience and support of our plans. I know we will all be relieved when students can return safely to school full time. I think the restrictions on gathering for assemblies, sports and excursions will still be in place for some time.
School Counsellor
Our school counsellor will be working remotely for the next couple of weeks however she is still available for sessions. Contact the office if you need a referral form or you want her to catch up with a current case.
School Improvements
Over the holidays we have had the heaters installed in the hall ready for a wintery blast. Thanks to Scott Hore from Goulburn Plumbing for all his work on this project. The heaters have been mostly funded by a grant from the Veolia Mulwarre Trust. We are very appreciative of their support. As a school we need to contribute about $3500 towards the project. The pie fundraiser will be a good start to these costs. The final profit amount is still to be finalised. We are also hoping to upgrade the sound system in the hall as part of upgrading these facilities.
Using the grant from the Federal Government we also installed new carpet in the Year 5/6 classrooms and will be ordering some new desks for this area as well.
Mother’s Day Stall
Check out the information about the Mother’s Day stall in the newsletter. I think the staff are planning for another virtual Mother’s Day surprise so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Gradual return of students weeks 2 & 3

Year 5 & Year 4 |
The timetable has been developed with the input of the school community, following a survey that was sent out via the SZapp on Monday. The timetable allows each year level to attend school three days over the fortnight, rather than just a day a week. The specific days each year level attends school has been chosen specifically, to allow for adequate social distancing and cater for other school logistics. During these timetabled days, teachers will not be providing content via our remote learning platforms. Children of essential workers are still able to attend school Monday to Friday.
We are now transitioning to winter school uniforms. It is not absolutely necessary that students be in their winter uniforms at the beginning of this term. However, it would be great if students could be in their correct uniforms by the beginning of Week 3. With the new timetable, please do not be concerned about when students should be wearing sports uniform. Students are also required to bring a water bottle to school when they attend. We are keeping the student bubblers turned off due to the current health advice.
Our school counsellor will be working remotely for the next two weeks. You can email her at Lauren.Lucey@catholiccare.cg.org.au if you need to contact her. Our canteen will reopen next week with a limited menu. Information will be sent out later this week regarding the menu.
I will advise the school community of any changes to this schedule and current arrangements towards the end of Week 3, as we evaluate our circumstances and follow the advice provided to us from the necessary authorities.
Sincerely,
Kathy Neely (Principal)

Information for parents regarding payment of fees
Catholic Education is committed to providing financial assistance to support families who have lost their economic livelihood as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The position of Catholic education is that no child will be denied a Catholic education because of financial circumstances.
Initial support to assist all families includes:
A refund (for amounts paid) on charges for excursions, sporting events or activities that were due to occur in Terms 1 and 2 and have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fee statements for Term 2 will be delayed to week 4 of Term 2.
Where families are experiencing financial stress due to job loss, being stood down, reduction in work hours, business downturn or closure resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The following is available through a confidential discussion with the school:
Suspension of follow up activity on outstanding fees at the end of Term 1 until 31 July 2020.
Full or partial fee remission or deferral. You are asked to indicate the level of assistance you feel you need at this time by completing a one-page fee assistance form (COVID-19 Fee Assistance Request Form) attached. Your level of fee support will be confirmed as soon as possible.
Families may apply for immediate deferral of Term 2 fee payments by completing the COVID-19 Fee Request to Defer Fees form, also attached.
Families whose employment situation has not been affected by COVID-19 can support the school by continuing to pay school fees as they fall due. This will support our school to continue providing quality learning in a connected community that nurtures and cares for each other.
Financial assistance continues to be available for those families experiencing hardship not related to COVID-19, particularly those experiencing the effects of the bushfire season and the ongoing drought. Families are encouraged to contact me for assistance and more information.
Your family is an important part of our school community. Your financial circumstances will not compromise the place of your children at our school. If you are experiencing any difficulties, I will confidentially ensure your child is not disadvantaged at this time.
Good wishes
Kathy Neely - Principal

Please help support a family from our school who are going through a hard time at the moment. Jocelyn Raunjak was diagonsed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia whilst being heavily pregnant. At present Jocelyn remains in hospital, whilst her husband is caring for their 3 daughters. All help is appreciated and the Raunjak family are in our prayers.
