FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Welcome back to Term 3. I hope it was an enjoyable break. Holidays I think will be a little different for the foreseeable future. This hit home as I walked past the travel agency in the mall and saw advertisement for holiday specials all within NSW. Strange times.
I hope that Term 3 would see some further loosening of COVID19 restrictions but currently my thoughts are conservative about what we do at school. I thank parents for continuing to adhere to requirements.
We will be still following many social distancing requirements at school. This will include parents only coming into the school via the office. Students need water bottles as our bubblers remain switched off. Parent/Teacher interviews will be by phone next week. Please make sure you have made an appointment. These instructions for booking an appointment were given out with the semester reports. Other communication to the teacher needs to be by phone or email. One to one meetings will be held on a needs basis.
Different classes will be running our fortnightly Friday assembly this term. These will be filmed and up loaded to Google Classrooms or Seesaw for families to view at home.
Unfortunately we will have to postpone the Year 6 camp due to COVID19 restrictions. We are working on a plan for a camp in Term 4.
The P & F Fundraising committee will meet on 6th August and they will discuss plans for the Trivia night rescheduled for October
We welcome the Life Education van here this week. Students love to catch up on what Happy Healthy Harold has been up to.
STAFFING
I am pleased to say we will have some new staff joining us in Term 3. Mrs Caitlan Martin will be replacing Mrs Kara Schilt as Learning Support Assistant and working in the Office particularly on the newsletter. Mr Gavin Halder will be here 2 days a week doing some extra learning support assistant work. Mrs Tory Simmons will be coming on board as a Student Welfare Officer working on Thursday and Friday. This is an exciting new role that will evolve overtime. Tory has had previous experience in similar roles in schools and is looking forward to meeting and getting to know our families. Nicki Bensley will be working three days a fortnight giving Early Career Teacher release to Mrs Yeo, Mr Collinge and Miss Atkinson. Also we welcome, Mr Michael Washington, looking after 1/2BM while Mrs Bush is taking some long service leave for a few weeks.
ENROLMENTS
Welcome to 5 new students who are starting at our school this semester. We have had over 40 enrolments for Kindergarten in 2021 and will be asking for some extra staffing to support two classes of Kindergarten in 2021.
READY SET GO
At this stage we will need to postpone our Kindergarten Readiness programme indefinitely. Our advice is that these programmes cannot go ahead at present. We hope for better news going forward.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT DAY
At the beginning of Term 4 students will not return until Wednesday 14th October. Staff are involved in special professional development learning in a Zoom meeting from England as part of our "Challenging Learning' initiative.
SEMESTER 1 ABSENT DAYS ON REPORTS
Some parents have concerns about the amount of absences in their child's report. This is probably linked to some confusion around remote learning tiime. We are happy to look at this over the next few weeks and reprint reports if required.
2021 enrolments are now open from Kindergarten - Year 6.
You are able to enrol online - see below. If you would like an information pack or more information please contact the front office on 4821 3304.
Personal Development Curriculum
During Term 3 classes cover the part of the curriculum dealing with the development of the body. It is done at an age appropriate level with students learning the correct terms for their body parts in the younger year levels about puberty in the older year levels.
Students are reminded that our bodies are a gift from God and we should look after them. Students cover important Child Protection Information. If you would like to know any more about the content covered please contact your child’s teacher.
SS Peter and Paul’s Primary School would like to gratefully acknowledge the support received from the Federal Government through their Local Schools Community Grant Funding Programme.
With its support we able to recarpet three of the Year 5/6 classrooms and replace worn out desks. The students, staff and families are very grateful for this support. It gives student and a staff a healthier place to work and more modern furniture for their classroom.
Thanks to the Honourable Angus Taylor (Federal Member for Hume) and his staff for help with our application.

Welcome to Season 2020.
On Saturday, all teams played in Round 1 of a delayed start local competition. It was great to see the maroon and sky blue out at Cookbundoon, while the 13s represented out at Crookwell.
This season we have 12 teams ranging from Under 6s through to 13s, including 3 teams in the Matilda’s female only competition. We welcome all players - regardless of whether they attend SPP or not. We still require players in our 6s (Kindy/ Year 1), 11 girls (Year 4/5) and 13s (Year 6/7). If you would like to join us, please get in touch so we can have you on the field this weekend.
This year we have two businesses who are supporting our club. Bryant’s Bakery and Cafe are a long term sponsor of our club and we thank them for their donation towards season 2020. McDonalds Goulburn North have come on as a major sponsor for 2020 and beyond - we have some great plans to take our club to the next level! Thankyou to the Poole family for believing in our club and what we set out to achieve. Please support the businesses who support our school - nothing better than a Bryant’s pie or a Maccas cheeseburger!
Thank you to all who have taken on coaching and managing roles this season - Erin Humphries, Emily Duggan, Gemma & Jens Loberg, Caitlan & Scott Martin, Josh Randall, Chloe, Stephanie & Christian Holmes, Lisa Ratcliff, Raymond Jurisic, Jo & Scott Hore, Justin Sieverts, Kym Baillie, Shane Webster, Josh Booth and Ben Stephenson. Without you all - we wouldn’t be able to enter teams in the competition and have them out on the field under expert guidance.
Lots of great things will be happening for our club throughout the season - arrival of game balls and new goalie gloves this week and new jersey’s for everyone in a few short weeks! A new merchandise range is in the works ... it’s all happening! We also are hoping to host some soccer social events once covid guidelines ease. Join our revolution - you won’t want to miss it!
