School Registration
Every 5 years school’s go through a process of re-registration as a school. We will be visited from 9th to 11th March by an external panel consisting of people from around our Diocesan schools and Head Office. They examine the school closely to see how we are progressing with our five year strategic plan and areas of improvement. The panel also looks at our policies and procedures and at teacher planning, as well as visit classrooms and inspect our facilities, and they will interview staff, parents and students about the school. It is a comprehensive process. We are looking forward to sharing our story of improvement with increasing enrolments, good academic results, supports we have in place for all student learning and our efforts to create a strong school culture based around our Mercy Values. I will share with the school community the commendations and recommendations from the registration visit.
Swimming
Thanks to all staff, students and families for all their help in making our carnival a great day. Congratulations to the winning house, O’Brien. Once again thanks to Mrs McCarthy who organised a great day. We wish all the Northern Region swimmers best of luck.
House Competition
During the year we run a House Competition and the winning house each term earns a special reward. Points are given out for following our Mercy values around the school and other challenges.
Playgroup
Our playgroup begins again next Wednesday and will run from 1:30 – 3:20. Children are welcome from 0-5 years old and do not need to have siblings at the school.
Local Excursions note
All families- PLEASE complete and return the Local Excursion Form ASAP. This covers student’s attendance and travel to any event during the school year in the Goulburn area. Staff take these forms with them to all events they attend.
Attendance
Your child’s daily attendance is recorded by way of marking a class roll. It is a legal requirement for all schools. You may email the school or use the school app to notify the school of your child’s absence. If you need to collect your child during school hours a note to their teacher explaining the reason for leaving is required. The parent/carer/guardian is also required to sign the child out at the front office and sign them back in if they return that day.
Allergies/Medical Conditions
Please inform the school if your child has any medical conditions, food allergies or asthma (etc.) and provide an action plan from the GP to the class teacher and front office. Medication is not able to be administered to children by staff. If your child requires long-term daily prescription medication you need to make arrangements with the front office. Medication must be in the labelled container from the chemist.
Notes/Money
Please ensure any money sent to school is in an envelope clearly marked with the purpose of the enclosed money, your child’s name and class details. Most events will also be able to be paid for on the Qkr! app.
We are holding a working bee at the same time as the School Disco Friday 26th February from 5.30-7pm. We would like to do a good cleanup around the school -especially gardens, fence lines , picking up around trees on the back oval, work on the sandpit & tidying up the garbage area. It would be great if people could bring their rakes and shovels for these jobs. We are also hoping some families might have a trailer or ute so we can move it to one area to get rid of.
Any help would be appreciated.
- First break (lunch) is from 11:30am to 12:10pm, and second break (afternoon tea) is from 1:40pm to 2:15pm. If you need to pick your child up from school please try to do so outside of these times as it can be very difficult to find a student during break time in the playground.
- Please ensure your child brings a hat for outside play and a full water bottle for the day to limit their contact with the school bubblers.

Siblings do take priority in enrolments, however the school has had a number of enquiries already and needs to get an idea of sibling numbers for the coming year.

Dear Parents and Carers,
As we are approaching the Holy Season of Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday, you may like to take the time to pray as a family and reflect on the meaning of Lent. For forty days, we reflect and repent on our actions and recognise the ashes placed upon us as a powerful sign to remind us to be kind and act with compassion in order to welcome the risen Jesus at Easter.
Sacramental Enrolments
Please note that all Sacramental Enrolments are due to the Parish Office by Monday February 15 (Week 4). We welcome Year Three students wishing to make their Reconciliation and Year Four students wishing to make their Holy Communion. The enrolment form and further information can be found on the following link >> Sacramental Enrolment Form

A small group of our Mini-Roos represented our school and local community at half time in the Macarthur FC game last Saturday.
It was a great opportunity for our players and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you to Macarthur FC, STFA and our group of parents for getting the players to the game.
Thanks also to McDonalds Goulburn North for the merchandise and vouchers for our representatives - they topped off a great night.

Class of the Week... 3/4H & 1/2SA
We have spent a lot of time discussing things that help us learn and make us kind friends. As well as discussing our school motto, To Learn, To Lead, To Love.
We can't wait to update you on all our progress over the year.
1/2SA have started the school year full of enthusiasm and are excited to begin learning in SPPP’s newest classroom. Lots of work happened in the holidays to get the room ready for learning. The children have embraced the challenges of a new school year and celebrated the change with resilience and confidence. Here are some of the students in 1/2SA enjoying their new classroom and utilising the excellent facilities.
The canteen is looking for helpers. Please contact the office if you are interested.
Please note, if you order a frozen product in your child's lunch order they will need to take the bag to Mrs Bennett in the canteen to collect it.
