We wish to remind all families of the parking rules for car line. Remember, when you are lined up on the road at pick up time you are only permitted to be stopped for 2 minutes. If the line is not moving, advice from NSW Police is that parents and carers should drive around the block until they are able to enter the school grounds.
Please also remember that student supervision at car line is until 3:45pm, so arriving around or after 3:30 will help to ease the congestion at this time. It is not essential that you are at car line before 3:20pm (school finish time).

Thank you
I was so grateful to all who the made the working bee and disco such a great success. The community that was built around these events was terrific. It was a sign that life is returning to normal.
We built a border around the sand pit, tidied up the parking area, cleaned up a lot of leaves and debris and fixed up our garbage area. Thanks for all brought along special equipment to help with these jobs. The disco was also a big hit and well supported & run by parents and staff.
Registration
As you read this, our three day visit from the Catholic Education Office team will be complete. We look forward to their feedback and endorsement of decisions to continue our journey of improvement at the school.
Principals Retreat
I spent last week at the Principals Retreat. I am very priviledged to be allowed to have some time away to reflect on my role as a leader of a Catholic School. We reflected on the story of Zaccheus, the gospel story about how Jesus notices the tax collector in a tree trying to get a glimpse of him. He calls him by name and says he will visit him at his house that day. From that moment Zaccheus changed his life and gave back the extra money he had taken from people. This is another example of Jesus recognizing a sinner and make him feel welcome. We were asked to think about how we cannot always see those hanging out on the fringes. We can make a difference by a simple hello and making them feel welcome. The challenge is to be truly "present" to everyone and notice all people, not just those who make the most noise.
If you would like to find out more or set up school banking for your child please contact the office.
School Counsellor Service
This year school counselling will be available all day on Mondays. School counselling is offered to help students cope with stress, emotional and behavioural issues, mental health difficulties, and improve students' overall well-being. To engage with school counselling the online referral form will need to be filled out and this can be done on a mobile phone. If you have any queries or concerns, please don’t hesitate to make contact with me through email at olivia.bowring-greer@catholiccare.cg.org.au
School Community Council - Looking for New Members
We are looking for new members for the School Community Council (SCC). The Council meets once or twice a term and provides advice and leadership in the areas of Catholic Identity and Faith, Leadership, Enrolment and Growth, Financial, Physical Resource and Academic Programs. We meet on a Thursday once or twice a term, please contact the office if you are interested.
Please find attached an information flyer regarding the upcoming launch of our Schools Compass Parent portal. This flyer is designed to give you an insight into some of the information you will be able to access through this Portal. One notable feature will be the ability to lodge absence notes via the parent portal and give you access to real-time absence data for your child or children.
The Portal, once fully implemented will be a one-stop-shop for the School and Parents and will eventually replace SZapp as our major method of communication. Catholic Education is rolling out this Portal in all Canberra-Goulburn Catholic Schools over the next 2 years.
Soon you will receive information from the front office asking you to please verify your ‘Preferred email address’ which will be used to set up your login details for this Portal. Once all email addresses have been confirmed, we will begin the rollout of login details to parents. Look out for more information in future Newsletters to detail a timeline for the cutover and advise how and when the logins will be distributed. If you would like further information, please contact the school.
A huge thank you to all of the parents and carers who are currently supporting their children in making their sacrament of Reconciliation. A reminder, we currently have two Wednesday night information sessions remaining at St Joseph's School Hall from 6:30-7:30pm before the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the Saint Peter and Paul's Cathedral on the 24th of March, from 6:30pm. Families welcome.
Attached is an image of Pope Francis with advice on how we may like to reflect on our choices and strengthen our relationship with God this Lenten season.

Archdiocesan Swimming Carnival Results
Congratulations to Patrick Turner who was also awarded the 8-10yrs Archdiocesan Age Champion!
It’s starting to get to the exciting part of the year – EOIs have gone out and we are starting to get more and more names in each day … but it’s not too late to join us!
We are aiming to have teams in the 6's through to the 13's. We are also hoping to enter teams in the female competitions in the 7's, 9's and 11's.
Players do not need to attend the school to play for our club – we welcome anyone from any school. So get daycare/pre-school friends, family friends, friends that live in the same street… the more the merrier!
Join us at McDonalds Goulburn North for our rego days on Monday 15/3 or Monday 22/3 from 4-5:30pm. Come and register on the day and get a FREE happy meal for each registering player and a FREE coffee for the registering parent.
We are seeking coaches and managers for the upcoming season. Coaches do not need formal coaching qualifications – just a sense of fun and willingness to guide an energetic bunch for the season. Managers are more the organisational gurus – in charge of making the team knows where to be and when, organising jerseys and for some age groups organising the lollipops for the end of the game.
We are also seeking interest from businesses who would like to assist in sponsoring our club in 2021. COVID gave us some challenges in 2020 – but we are really excited to bring some fun to our soccer community.
If you would like to join the fun as a player/coach/manager/sponsor – please contact us via the EOI or reach out to us on Facebook (Ss Peter & Paul’s Football Club) or send us an email sppsfc@gmail.com.

Thank you to everyone who came to the School Disco and Working Bee. We had a fabulous turnout and were so lucky to have had our guest DJs, Dj Trev & Devastating Dave. Hopefully we can book them again for the next disco!
Thank you also to the parents and carers who volunteered their time to help out at our working bee. A special thank you goes out to Scott & Susie Byrne from Wolfcon who donated the use of a street sweeper, as well as driver Andy Lewis who donated his time. We would also like to make a special thank you to Rick Parker, owner of Ricks Trees, and his staff who all donated their time as well as the use of a tree mulcher and truck. Neither of these businesses have children at our school which makes their donation especially generous.
The P&F raised just over $600 from the disco!
Can't wait to see you all again for the next one!
