MUSICAL
As I am writing this our school musical is in its final rehearsal. I am really looking forward to seeing the whole production on Thursday & Friday night. What I love about these things it shows what can be produced when we all work together. I get to see the hidden talents of our students; some up on stage challenging themselves to overcome their fears to perform. Well done especially to all our Year 5/6 cast and each year level songs. The musical would not have come together without the tireless work of Mr Greg Angus, our music teacher. His hard work has brought this all together. Special thanks to Mrs Tracey Jenkins for adding to the performance with the band. Behind the scenes staff have helped with costumes, programmes, dance moves, etc. Many thanks to them. Thanks to Mrs Kylie Brushaber for organising the P&F barbecue & Mrs Cassie Harris for the cookie cutter competition.
Everyone involved, especially Mr Angus, will deserve their break.
QUOTA PUBLIC SPEAKING
Congratulations to Isabelle Howard who was our school representative at Quota Public Speaking Competition on Wednesday evening. She did a great job.
END OF TERM
School finishes on Wednesday 21st September and resumes on Tuesday October 11th. Thursday 22nd September is now a public holiday and Friday 23rd is a pupil free day for staff development. I thank everyone for a great term - staff, students and families. I hope in term 4 that COVID restrictions are lifted so everyone can be involved in our end of year events. The Cathedral re-opens at the end of November just in time for our Year 6 Graduation ceremony and it is something I personally look forward to enoying in the newly refurbished Cathedral... I hear it looks wonderful.
Thanks and have a relaxing break.
SUPERKIDS! The Musical - Opening Night TONIGHT!
Opening night is finally here! We look forward to welcoming all our student actors with their friends and family to see this wonderful performance on Thirsday and Friday evenings.
We will also be holding a pre-performace BBQ each night, so please come with cash and enjoy a sausage sizzle before the show. We appreciate the continued support of our school community, and encourage all families to bring their grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends to enjoy the evening.
Remember, it's bad luck to say "good luck" to an actor, tell them to "Break a leg" instead!
There are still plenty of spots available for Kindergarten in 2023!
Please get in touch with Tracey in the Office on 02 4821 3304.
If you or someone you know of wishes to enrol a child in Kindergarten for 2023 please do so online as soon as possible!
Please share the great things about our school with the wider community and help us grow in 2023.
Please call the office if you have any questions about enrolments or interviews.

Canteen Procedures & IOU Information
We have been getting a large amount of forgotten lunches and unpaid IOUs. This is a huge strain on the canteen manually and financially. Below are a few procedures put in place to keep the canteen running smoothly and effectively.
- How to Order – place order on the Qkr app or write order on a paper bag with cash inside.
- QKR! Orders – are due by 9.30am on the day (from Term 4 this will change to 9am cut-off). Please remember that you can order the night or days before. Also check that you have selected the correct day.
- Cancelled QKR! Orders - if you have placed an order and your child is not at school that day, you can cancel your order by going into “activities” and click on the minus icon before 9.30am. If you need to cancel the order after 9.30a m you need to call the office or text Di on 0417 688 472 ASAP. If the order has already been prepared or made you may not receive a credit.
- No Lunch – if your child realises that they don’t have lunch before 10.00am a phone call will be made to parents. If lunch cannot be brought up to school, then the canteen can make lunch and an IOU will be sent home. If they realise after 10.00am a phone call will be made but only a sandwich can be made from the canteen no hot food.
- Unpaid IOUs – please remember to pay your IOUs ASAP, either on Qkr or cash. Please check your child's school bag for these.
Please note that from the start of Term 4 the canteen orders on Qkr will cut off at 9am. PLEASE ensure that you place your child's lunch order prior to this time, and remember that you can order up to a fortnight in advance.
As the days get colder, please ensure your children have the correct winter uniform to wear. This includes the school jumper, jacket, beanie and scarf, and remember black tights for the girls.
There are good quality pre-loved items at huge discounts available directly from the Uniform shop to cater for all budgets.
- New uniform purchases can be ordered on Qkr. The order will be filled on Tuesdays and sent home with your child.
- If you are wanting to purchase some 2nd hand uniforms please visit the uniform shop during the opening hours.
- Students must wear Summer Uniform in Terms 1 & 4 and Winter Uniform in Terms 2 & 3.
From the Student and Family Counsellor
Hi, my name is Mark Holberton and I am pleased to be working with the students, staff and families at Ss Peter and Paul’s. I am here to provide therapeutic counselling to students and families and to work alongside school staff regarding student welfare and classroom issues.
When will I be at the school: I will be at the school every Wednesday
How can you can refer your child to the student and Family Counsellor: Speak to your teacher, complete the online referral form, or email me at mark.holberton@catholiccare.cg.org.au.
For Science 3/4 students have been looking at looking at heat. A few weeks ago 3/4H built solar ovens and this week there was finally enough sunshine for them to test whether or not they worked.
Students designed their ovens to reflect and contain enough heat to cook a smore. It was a very successful and tasty experiment.
Have a super fun last game and see you back for Season 2023 ⚽️
Remember to post your player of the week to Facebook if possible!
We have a new digital parent and visitor sign in portal installed in the front office. It is very simple to use and helps the office staff greatly.
Staff will be on hand to assist you when you are first using the system. Please remember to come to the front office and sign your child/ren in if they arrive to school after 9.20am, and sign out if you are picking them up before 3.20pm.
A reminder that students should not bring toys and personal or valuable items to school in case of loss or damage.
PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR FAMILY NAME SIGN WHEN PICKING UP FROM CAR LINE
CAR LINE PARKING RULES
A reminder to all families of the parking rules at car line. Remember, when you are lined up on the road at pick up time you are only permitted to be stopped for 2 minutes. If the line is not moving, advice from NSW Police is that parents and carers should drive around the block until they are able to enter the school grounds.
Please also remember that student supervision at car line is until 3:45pm, so arriving around or after 3:30 will help to ease the congestion at this time. It is not essential that you are at car line before 3:20pm (school finish time).
Please also remember to leave neighbours driveways clear when waiting to pick your child up at the end of the day, especially if you are waiting behind the bus stop area.
Parent attendance at school activities - This term because of the rising number of COVID-19 cases we have been asked by Catholic Education Head Office to limit parents/visitors at school, mainly for indoor events. Because of this directive we will not be able to have parents and carers at assemblies, masses, etc until further notice. We sincerely apologise for this turn in events and hope to be able to welcome you back soon.
Staying home when sick and hygiene requirements - Students and visitors must not attend school if they are unwell and will be sent home if they any have symptoms of COVID-19. All staff, visitors and students should at all times maintain appropriate hand and respiratory hygiene.
Household Contacts – Students are required to follow NSW Health directions when they are deemed a household close contact and must notify the school to advise they are a household contact. It is strongly recommended that a household contact works or studies from home where it is practical to do so. A household contact must wear a face mask in any indoor setting that is not their own home, if they are aged 12 years and over. Mask wearing for students in primary schools is at the discretion of the student and their families, and is not recommended for children in Kindergarten to Year 2. Where a student attends school they must undertake a COVID test prior to returning to school and may only attend school if they have no symptoms.
Communication - We will communicate to the school communities when a significant number of cases are recorded. Staff and students who are affected should comply with the appropriate public health advice, dependent on their exposure level. Staff and students who are not directly affected can continue attending school unless they have symptoms of COVID-19.
