Although we’re still experiencing some cooler weather, ultraviolet (UV) radiation will reach levels high enough to damage our skin. In fact, in NSW, UV levels are high enough to cause damage to unprotected skin for most months of the year. Remember, sun damage is caused by UV radiation not heat. You can’t see or feel UV. A windy, cool, or cloudy day can have similar UV levels to a warm, sunny day. Whether you’re outside for 15 minutes or a few hours, you may be a risk. The simplest way to reduce your risk of skin cancer is to use sun protection when the UV index is 3 or above. Make sure to download the free SunSmart App to access daily UV levels and sun protection times for your location.
The Journey of Hope design collaboration with Riki Salam is available exclusively at Cancer Council and features a 15-piece swimwear collection including a range of rashies and paddle suits for all ages to help keep Aussie families safe this summer.

This year school counselling will be available all day on Mondays. School counselling is offered to help students cope with stress, emotional and behavioural issues, mental health difficulties, and improve students' overall well-being. To engage with school counselling the online referral form will need to be filled out and this can be done on a mobile phone.
