From the Principal
Welcome back to Term 3. I hope people enjoyed the break. I had a lovely trip around country Victoria chasing silo art and visiting country bakeries. I hope the break helped a lot of us get over what has been a trying time for illnesses including COVID and the flu. We will continue to try to be diligent in using hand sanitizer and wiping down desks and door handles. Please keep your child at home if they are not well to help stop the spread of infections.
Term 3 has many events to look forward too, the most exciting for the year will be our school musical, after COVID saw it postponed for the past 2 years. It is called "Superkids" and it has a strong anti-bullying focus. Every student will be involved in some way and is an all singing, dancing & acting affair and very funny. Please put the dates 15th & 16th September in your calendar and do not miss it!
We have received some information that we might have to wear masks indoors at our school events; I will keep you informed.
I would like to welcome Miss Esther MacGregor to our school. Esther did a successful final practice at our school last term with Mrs Bush. She has now been contracted between SPP and St Joseph's to help with the ongoing staffing shortages we have experienced. She is most welcome.
Lauren Whalan is also joining our staff replacing Vicki Chilko, who is on extended leave. She will be working as a classroom assistant.
Some important reminders:
- School supervision does not begin till 8.30am and students should not be on the grounds before this time. School supervision finishes at 3.45pm in carline and your child/ren should be collected by then. The teacher on bus duty stays until the last bus arrives.
- Please be on time to school. Classes commence at 9.20am. Late arrivals are very disruptive to children's learning. When they are late children lose valuable learning time.
- Please the use Compass app in a timely manner if your child is absent from school.
- PLEASE PLEASE label your child's clothing. Our lost property tub is constantly filled with unlabelled clothing.
