From the Principal
We celebrated our Grandfriends by inviting them to the Art Show from 10:30am-12:00pm today to view the pieces that students have made during Visual Arts lessons. The hall was full of colour and is a true testament to the creativity and dedication of our students and teachers. If you're able to make it, it is well worth a look at our afternoon session from 3:20-6:00pm.
On Friday of Week Seven, we look forward to our annual Book Week Parade. Each year since 1945 the CBCA has brought children and books together across Australia through Children's Book Week®. During this time schools and public libraries celebrate books and Australian children's authors and illustrators. Classroom teachers, teacher librarians and public librarians create colourful displays, develop activities and tell stories relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading.
The 2023 theme for Children's Book Week is Read, Grow, Inspire. This term, students in Kindergarten, Year One and Year Two have been reading many of the books that were shortlisted and have been doing an author study on Julia Donaldson, after studying Beatrix Potter and her work during Term Two. It has been a pleasure to teach these units in the library and I look forward to seeing many students' ideas about their Gruffalo costumes coming to life on the day. Wishing you and your families a wonderful weekend,
