ARCHDIOCESAN PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION

Well done to the 5 students from our school that made it into the Archdiocesan level of the Public Speaking Competition. They competed on Monday at Batemans Bay and did very well. The students were Ethan Dahl, Avery Hogan, Elsie McCelland, Astrid Schmidt & Hudson Salmon. Special congratulations to Elsie McCelland from Year 4 who was runner-up in her year level. She delivered a great speech on the topic “Australian Stories”.

QUOTA PUBLIC SPEAKING

Following on from the above children’s efforts, Carter Beardmore did a wonderful job representing the school in the Quota Public speaking competition on Wednesday night. He was up against speakers from Bradfordville, Goulburn East, Goulburn West, Wollondilly, Tallong and Tarago Public Schools. The topic was “I wish I was” and we are proud to announce that Carter was the winner of this year's competition!

SCHOOL MUSICAL DRAGON DAYS

This will be a great event to end this week. I have only seen glimpses of the show and it looks and sounds fantastic.

Mr Angus has delivered a great production supported by the staff and of course performed by our wonderful students. Check out the programme where you can see who has been putting in extra behind the scenes and on the night.

STAFFING

Mr Angus will step down from his role on the School Leadership team as Co-ordinator from the beginning of 2025. He has been a tremendous asset in our school in supporting staff with curriculum and restorative justice practices. These are just a few areas where he has been an important driver of professional development in our school. He has brought wisdom and experience from many settings to our executive team and we are very thankful for all his efforts.

Mr Angus will continue his work on staff as our Creative Arts Teacher and Classroom Support Teacher in 2025.The role of Co-ordinator from 2025 has been advertised and an appointment will made in Term 4.

READY SET GO

Our last session of our Kinder readiness programme was held on Tuesday. We have had over 30 students attend each session this year. My special thanks to the staff & students who did a wonderful job in running sessions during the past 2 terms. Our new Kinders have loved their opportunity to visit our school.

We will meet all the new Kinder students in Term 4 at their orientation days. A parent information session for Kinder 2025 will be held in the evening on 5th November.

LEAVE

I will be on leave from this Monday 16th September until the start of Term 4. I am attending a Principal’s Conference in Christchurch, New Zealand and taking some long service leave to have a holiday in NZ after the conference finishes next Friday.

Mr Brown will be Acting Principal until my return.
