ACADEMIC GROWTH & SUCCESS
At our staff meeting last week we took some time to look at results from standardised tests we do at the end of the year. The results show overall tremendous growth as a group & individuals in our school.
I want to thank Mr Gerrard, Mrs Seaman, Mr Angus & Mr Brown who supported staff to bring about a transformation of teaching & learning over the past few years. The staff have worked very hard and the results are paying off. I look forward to even better results in 2025. (Further information in the newsletter).
ACARA’s My School website has been updated for 2024 with the latest school-level NAPLAN data and new profile information on schools. My School gives parents and carers information about schools in their area, including on student and teacher numbers, attendance rates, income and expenditure, and NAPLAN results. It also provides principals and teachers with important insights into school performance. ACARA CEO Stephen Gniel said: “ACARA’s My School has detailed information on around 10,000 schools right across Australia. It’s the only website that provides parents, carers and the broader community with clear and transparent information on every Australian school.” Visit myschool.edu.au for more details.
END OF YEAR THANKS
As we come to the close of another busy and successful year, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all the students, staff, and families for their hard work, dedication, and support.
To our families: Thank you for your continued support and understanding. Your financial contributions through fees and fundraisers are vital to the smooth running of our school. We appreciate everything you do to ensure our school community thrives.
Special thanks to our wonderful Parent Class Carers who volunteered their time and kept the lines of communication open. Your dedication makes a difference in so many ways.
To the School Community Council and P&F: Thank you for your tireless work throughout the year. Your contributions help us continue to grow and provide an exceptional environment for our students.
Our student leaders have done an outstanding job, embodying our motto—"To Learn, To Lead, To Love." I also want to extend my thanks to all students who strive to be welcoming, hardworking, and compassionate.
A special shout-out to some of our less-visible team members: Di & Courtney in the canteen, Vicki, our cleaner, and Steve, our Groundsman. Your contributions, often behind the scenes, are greatly appreciated.
Special thanks to Courtney Kozelj who is finishing in the canteen at the end of the term. She has done a great job & stepped in with very little notice to help us out. Best wishes for her new job.
Thanks to Father Joshy and Father Hilary for their continued support of our spiritual life throughout the year. Your guidance and presence mean so much to our school community. We wish you well in new parishes and look forward to Father Lim joining us in the new school year.
Thank you to Tracey for her seamless management of the Front Office, and to Caitlan & Stacey for their support. I also want to express my gratitude to the School Executive team—Brad, Cassie, and Greg—whose hard work and dedication helped carry us through challenging times. All of our staff do an extraordinary job, showing kindness, care, and understanding in their roles. I hope each of you enjoys a well-deserved break.
Best wishes to Rowena Atkinson as she embarks on a career change & takes on High School.
This year, we say goodbye to some families who have made tremendous contributions to our school community.
We thank them for everything they’ve done and wish them all the best in their future endeavors. We especially want to recognise Darren McMahon who has been Chair of the Community Council since my arrival here. He has done a tremendous job. Darren was on the interview panel when I applied for the job and asked me how we could increase enrolments. With the help of Darren, the Community Council, parents staff & students we have achieved our goals and enrolments are still on the rise.
To all students, staff, and families leaving, we are grateful for your time with us and wish you happiness and success in all that lay ahead.
Thank you to all for your hard work and dedication. Wishing everyone a peaceful and relaxing break.
May Christ bless you and your families, and may you have a Happy and Holy Christmas.
