Science and Technology in K/1W

This week K/1W have been learning about ways that we can help living things. This is a focus of our Biological Sciences (Living World) unit.

Students considered ways in which some birds have lost their food and shelter such as bushfires and drought.

Students worked in small groups to design bird feeders. The feeders had to be made from recycled materials and contain food that was suitable for the birds they would like in their garden. 

We hope to make some of their designs next week.

K/1W was very fortunate to have a coding lesson with Mrs Harris using an app called Scratch Jnr. Students created coding sentences to build short animations.
