This event aims to bring together people from around the Archdiocese and beyond to celebrate the contribution of women to the Church, and to honour Mary Magdalene. In 2016 Pope Francis decreed (through the Congregation of Divine Worship) that Mary Magdalene’s liturgical memorial be elevated to a ‘feast’, like that of the other apostles, and that she should be referred to as “Apostle to the apostles”.
The event will include a three course meal, and an engaging address about Mary Magdalene by Sr Margaret Beirne RSC, a scripture scholar, educator and religious sister.
