From the Principal
Thank you to all who supported our school walkathon. It was a fantastic effort by all involved, especially our parent helpers. We are well on our way to reaching our goal for an upgrade to our hall sound system. We have ordered the new equipment and await its arrival. Students have started rehearsals for our School Musical “Superkids” in Term 3 so we will have a great opportunity to put all the new gear to work. We will announce the winners of the Walkathon competition after our Ss Peter and Paul’s Feast Day Mass on the last day of term.
I am pleased to announce that Mrs Angela Ashley-Jones will be looking after 3/4Y from the beginning of Term 3 while Mrs Yeo is on maternity leave. We give Mrs Yeo and her husband our best wishes and prayers for the safe arrival of their first child. I am sure you will welcome Mrs Ashley-Jones to our school community.
At this stage we almost have 50 students for Kindergarten in 2022. I am still waiting on a few siblings to hand in their forms (hint hint). We will be looking at 2 classes in 2022 and I will be asking for head office to have us move from 11 to a total of 12 classes. We are of course still taking enrolments and I want to thank families for the part they play in promoting our school. New families often mention the positive messages they receive from current parents as their reason for choosing our school, so keep up the good work. My special thanks to Mrs Kain, our office manager, who is often the first point of contact for new families and she does a wonderful job. An important item that is discussed at every School Community Council meeting are enrolments and the Council is very pleased to see the upward trend. Currently we have 255 students and I predict we will have at least 270 in 2022.
Your child’s semester 1 report will be online. There will be no comments. Parents are encouraged to make appointment with your child’s teacher next term if you wish to discuss your child’s progress.
A reminder that from the end of this week (week 9) the SZAPP will be turned off and Compass will be our primary communication tool. Mr Wigg is always happy to help if you need some support with understanding how to use Compass.
This is our last newsletter for Term 2. I hope all have a safe and happy holiday.
