As term 1 draws to a close I want to thank all the school community for supporting and caring for each other this term. The last few weeks COVID numbers of students and staff testing positive or needing to isolate have increased. This has stretched our staff to our limits. For a fortnight were operating on only 50% staff present. The staff I hope will take a well earned rest over the Easter Break. I hope families will have their own opportunity to have some relaxation over Easter.
Staffing
I have received the resignation of Mrs Ariss from 2YA starting from the 6th May. We thank her for her work and wish her the best as moves onto new things.
At the present moment schools are experiencing a shortage of teachers so new teachers are difficult to recruit.
This means I need to make some adjustments so the class has an experienced teacher . From Week 3 next term Mrs Seaman will be taking Year 2YA every Thursday & Friday, Mr Angus will now be taking 1S on Fridays. Mr Brown & I will pick up some administrative work from Learning Support to help Mrs Seaman, and some of our LSA’s will work some extra days so we keep our Minilit & Macqlit programmes well supported. These changes will remain in place for the rest of the year so classes have stability. Class names will remain the same.
I appreciate the staff being flexible to help the learning of our children. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
When we return after the break we will try and return to some old practices; in particular inviting parents to assemblies and masses or liturgies.
I wish you all a happy and holy Easter.
- Please return the Local Excursion Consent form
- Please return the NR Cross Country note and make payment

PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR FAMILY NAME SIGN WHEN PICKING UP FROM CAR LINE
CAR LINE PARKING RULES
A reminder to all families of the parking rules at car line. Remember, when you are lined up on the road at pick up time you are only permitted to be stopped for 2 minutes. If the line is not moving, advice from NSW Police is that parents and carers should drive around the block until they are able to enter the school grounds.
Please also remember that student supervision at car line is until 3:45pm, so arriving around or after 3:30 will help to ease the congestion at this time. It is not essential that you are at car line before 3:20pm (school finish time).
Please also remember to leave neighbours driveways clear when waiting to pick your child up at the end of the day, especially if you are waiting behind the bus stop area.
EARLY PICK UP INFORMATION
Please return the Year 6 Camp note and complete the online medical form. To complete the form please follow this link>> https://officeofsport.ungerboeck.com/prod/emc00/register.aspx?eid=dXBxYUhyUTFpQk04dkhTUitFWlpEZz090

'On Thursday Jesus had his last supper. Then Jesus died on the cross and his body was placed in a tomb. Two girls went to the tomb and Jesus was not there. An angel appeared and Jesus rose from the dead and the girls told the disciples, and they were happy.'
By Sofia in 1B
Next week, we enter the most holy of weeks in the Church Calendar. As we prepare for the rising of our Lord on Easter Sunday, Holy Week concludes the forty days of Lent where we prepared for our Lord’s coming with almsgiving, fasting and prayer.
On our last day of school tomorrow in students will view the Stations of the Cross at school and continue to learn about the Season of Lent and Easter. On Good Friday, we commemorate Jesus’ passion, crucifixion and death. Holy Saturday focuses on the transition of Jesus’ death and his Resurrection. Then, Easter Sunday celebrates the Resurrection of our Lord and holds unto our Christian belief that our Lord conquered sin and through His Resurrection, we experience redemption.
During our Easter break, we are presented with the perfect time to pause, reflect and experience the importance of the faith and Easter in our lives.
The community of Ss Peter and Paul’s wishes you a safe break and all the blessings of Our Risen Lord!

Due to stock shortages and delivery issues we expect some menu items to be occaisionally substituted or changed on Qkr at short notice.
Apologies for any inconvenience.
CANTEEN PROCEDURES FOR 2022
Last year we had an overwhelming number of forgotten lunches and unpaid IOUs. This is a huge strain on the canteen manually and financially. Below are a few procedures put in place to keep the canteen running smoothly and effectively.
- How to Order – place order on the Qkr app or write order on a paper bag with cash inside.
- QKR! Orders – are due by 9.30am on the day. Please remember that you can order the night or days before. Also check that you have selected the correct day.
- Cancelled QKR! Orders - if you have placed an order and your child is not at school that day, you can cancel your order by going into “activities” and click on the minus icon before 9.30am. If you need to cancel the order after 9.30am please text Di on 0417 688 472 ASAP. If the order has already been prepared or made you may not receive a credit.
- No Lunch – if your child realises that they don’t have lunch before 10.00am a phone call will be made to parents. If lunch cannot be brought up to school, then the canteen can make lunch and an IOU will be sent home. If they realise after 10.00am a phone call will be made but only a sandwich can be made from the canteen- no hot food.
- Unpaid IOUs – please remember to pay your IOUs ASAP, either on Qkr or cash. This keeps the prices low.
Canteen Helpers – at the moment we cannot have helpers. When restrictions ease Di will be looking for helpers on Thursdays and Fridays from 9.30am – 11.30am. Please contact Di on 0417 688 472 if you would like to know more information.
As the days get colder, please ensure your children have the correct winter uniform to wear. This includes the school jumper, jacket, beanie and scarf, and remember black tights for the girls.
There are good quality pre-loved items at huge discounts available directly from the Uniform shop to cater for all budgets.
- Students must wear Summer Uniform in Terms 1 & 4 and Winter Uniform in Terms 2 & 3. All uniform items are now available to buy. New uniform purchases can be ordered on Qkr. The order will be filled on Tuesdays and sent home with your child.
- If you are wanting to purchase some 2nd hand uniforms please visit the uniform shop during the opening hours.
What's happening in... KW and 2YA!
On Monday the 21st of March, 2YA and the rest of Stage 1 enjoyed an old school games morning. This complemented our Term 1 History unit, 'Then and Now.' Students have been learning about how daily life in the past differs from theirs.
The students thoroughly enjoyed rotating around the different games and learning how to play them. Students played hopscotch, elastics, skipping, spinning tops, marbles, quoits, string games, hoola hoops, egg and spoons races, sack races and boot throwing. It's been wonderful watching the students play these games in their own time.
Thank you to all of those families who have registered for our 2022 season.
Our numbers are looking strong - with multiple teams in some age groups (6s through to 13s). If you know of someone still looking for a club, please send them our way. Players do not have to attend St Peter & Pauls to play for us.
We do have many vacancies for soccer this year for the below teams
- 10 Boys
- 11 Girls
- 11 Boys
- 13 Girls
Please contact the soccer club at sppsfc@gmail.com if you haven't done so already.
Now is a good time to make sure you have the football socks (available from the Uniform shop), a pair of boots and black shorts. If you intend to use your Active Kids voucher to help pay for registration costs, make sure that is set and ready to go as well.

Encouraging better behaviour in children - Free webinar on Tuesday 5th April 7pm AEST. (40 mins, followed by 20 mins question and answer session).
It's good for children to learn how to behave well. Behaving well helps children get along with others, make friends, and learn at preschool and school. This is all essential to children's healthy development. Also, when children behave well, your family life is likely to be calmer and more harmonious - and that's good for everyone!

Cecile’s FDC residence is located a short walk from St Peter & Paul’s, which is very convenient for families within our school community.
Goulburn Family Day Care accept the BASC (before & after school care) vouchers, which parents can apply for through Service NSW. Families can submit this voucher direct to Goulburn Family Day Care after enrolment, and once approved, this entitles the family to $500 towards the cost of before & after school care and vacation care.
