I hope everyone enjoys their extra long, long weekend. Staff have appreciated the opportunity to catch up on some Professional Development and Assessment work they needed to do and are grateful for parent support to help them do this.
Belated thanks to the Smith family who organised for the scrap metal to be taken away at the back of the school. Still looking for help to fix up our garbage area if anyone has any thoughts.
SCHOOL EVENTS
It has been really terrific to have parents and carers back in school helping with events. Last Friday we had a good band of helpers for the athletic field events and to give out the pizza lunch. At the moment the weather is playing havoc for planning of outdoor events especially sporting events and we appreciate people’s flexibility with last minute changes of plans.
Coming up we have our School Disco on Friday 24 June 6-7.30pm, as well as our St Peter and Paul’s Feast Day Mass & activities on Friday 1 July (more information to be posted soon). Feel free to come along and help or just watch these events. The students always have a lot of fun.
REPORTS
Reports go home at the end of the term. You will be able to access them via Compass and we will send home instructions about how to do this. If you have any questions after you read the reports feel free to talk to your child’s teacher early in Term 3. We do not organise a formal interview time however staff are more than happy to catch up in person, by phone or by email. If you ever ask staff to contact you and you haven’t received a reply after 48 hours please let us know so we can chase up.
GOOD COMMUNICATION BETWEEN HOME AND SCHOOL IS IMPORTANT TO US. We need you to let us know if there is an issue so we can keep on top of this area.
HOLY COMMUNION
Next weekend students from Year 4 are making their First Holy Communion. This an important milestone in our Catholic traditions. Our prayers go with these children in our parish.
I hope you all have a great weekend and we get a little break from the rain.

SPP Athletics Carnival - Field Events
We were disappointed that we were unable to run our Athletics Carnival for students in Yrs 1-6 on Friday due to Hudson Park being closed. However, we were impressed with the way Yrs 3-6 took part in the field events held at school! Your enthusiasm and good sportsmanship was appreciated.
All going well, we will be able to hold our track events at Hudson Park on Thursday 9/6.

On Tuesday, we hosted Mass in the chapel. Father Joshy was very impressed with our recollection of the Gospel story and our beautiful singing. Last Friday we hosted our assembly on resilience.
Children determined we should BOUNCE Back when things don’t go as planned. We challenged ourselves to go outside our comfort zones, building confidence and perfecting our public speaking skills to members of our school community!
We demonstrated small acts of resilience for our audience by acting as famous people throughout history who are known to have practised resilience. There were some remarkable performances.
This week we all participated in our Athletics carnival. Due to the closure of Hudson Park, the carnival was held at school. Whilst we were disappointed that we were not able to cheer our houses on, we still had an amazing day competing in the Long Jump, Shotput and Discus.
If any parents have photos from the day, we’d love for you to share them!
On Tuesday, members of our Year 4 cohort participated in a First Holy Communion Reflection, sharing the day with students from Trinity. They all had such a great day!
Congratulations and Well Done!

Hi, my name is Mark Holberton and I am pleased to be working with the students, staff and families at Ss Peter and Paul’s. I am here to provide therapeutic counselling to students and families and to work alongside school staff regarding student welfare and classroom issues.

PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR FAMILY NAME SIGN WHEN PICKING UP FROM CAR LINE
CAR LINE PARKING RULES
A reminder to all families of the parking rules at car line. Remember, when you are lined up on the road at pick up time you are only permitted to be stopped for 2 minutes. If the line is not moving, advice from NSW Police is that parents and carers should drive around the block until they are able to enter the school grounds.
Please also remember that student supervision at car line is until 3:45pm, so arriving around or after 3:30 will help to ease the congestion at this time. It is not essential that you are at car line before 3:20pm (school finish time).
Please also remember to leave neighbours driveways clear when waiting to pick your child up at the end of the day, especially if you are waiting behind the bus stop area.
